Install Windows 8 Developer Preview from USB

Dear Friends,

Microsoft has just released Windows 8 Developer Preview. It can be downloaded from Microsoft website (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows).

You can install Developer Preview from USB if your motherboard support booting from USB.

Windows8 has the following system requirements:
ü  1 Gigahertz or faster processor
ü  1 Gigabyte(GB) of RAM for 32-bit
ü  16 Gigabyte(GB) hard drive for 32-bit systems
ü  Direct X 9 graphics card
Requirements-

ü  An USB drive with at least 4 Gigabytes of free space (8GB preferable).
ü  Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool. It works for Windows 8 also. Download it from http://download.cnet.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-Download-Tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html
ü  Windows 8 Developer Preview ISO file. Download from http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows

Steps-

(1) Format the USB drive with the FAT32 file system.

(2) Run Windows 7 USB/DVD Tool.
When it asks for source then select the Windows 8 ISO.

(3) Select to copy the contents to the USB drive. It will make the drive bootable too.

(4) Now boot into BIOS according to your motherboard and set the USB as first booting option.

(5) Now installation should start automatically.

That’s all.
